Suomalainen työ ry has awarded the Key Flag symbol to Hallitustuki's chair and board member services in recognition of services produced in Finland that support employment in Finland.

Hallitustukibrings an experienced chair or member to a housing company's board. The professional serves as part of the board, strengthening its expertise in everyday decision-making and demanding renovation projects alike.

The Key Flag is a symbol of Finnish work. The primary criterion for its award is that the service is produced in Finland. A company applying for the service Key Flag must have a significant proportion of Finnish ownership, management operating in Finland and its head office in Finland. In addition, the service's domestic content must be at least 50 per cent. This means that at least half of the costs of producing the service arise in Finland. All costs materially related to providing the service are included in the calculation.

Good governance brings peace of mind

"Good governance brings peace of mind. It feels good to be at home when you know the building is being looked after, even when a major renovation or difficult decision lies ahead. A Hallitustuki professional serves as part of the housing company's board, helping it find workable solutions and put them into practice," says Hallitustuki CEO Timo Metsälä.

The Key Flag makes Finnish work visible

The Key Flag is very widely recognised in Finland. According to Suomalainen työ ry's Key Flag 60 Years study, almost all consumers and business decision-makers recognise the symbol. Of those familiar with it, 73 per cent say it has a positive influence on their purchasing decisions.

"Choosing a Finnish service supports work in Finland and strengthens Finnish wellbeing. For many, it is also a choice based on values: they want their purchases to influence the services and jobs available in Finland in the future," Suomalainen työ ry's Account Manager Nina Pohjoiskoski says.

In addition to Finnish origin, consumers associate the Key Flag with reliability, safety and employment.

"The Key Flag makes the Finnish origin of a service visible. It helps customers easily identify services produced in Finland, and gives companies a clear way to communicate their values," Pohjoiskoski concludes.
